Within the void

‘Within the void’ - An artistic exploration of sleep paralysis and the borderlands of consciousness

In this series, I delve into the phenomenon of sleep paralysis, a state where body and mind exist between sleep and wakefulness. Sleep paralysis typically occurs during the transition between REM sleep and awakening, where the body is temporarily unable to move, even though the mind is partially conscious. This experience can lead to intense hallucinations and a feeling of being trapped between dream and reality.

Through my works, I aim to visualize this mysterious state and pose questions such as: What happens to our consciousness during sleep paralysis? Where do we go when we sleep, and our minds enter different stages of awareness? By exploring these questions, I invite the viewer to reflect on the hidden dimensions of our consciousness and the borderlands we traverse in the realm of sleep.

This series is an invitation to explore the unknown space between dream and reality, where our minds wander in the quiet hours of the night.
